This is not a love song è un breve ma intenso viaggio poetico intorno all’universo Dark-Goth-New Wave che si sviluppò nei primi anni 80 e che molti definirono movimento Post-Punk.
Sul Palco un attore ed un musicista si scambiano i momenti narrativi con le tecniche a loro più consone,la fisicità epilettica e la narrazione dell'attore dialogano con le note e la voce rotta ed intensa del cantore dipanando,lentamente un racconto intimista che ripercorre i mood ed i sentimenti di un periodo ben preciso , dove si viveva di appartenenza.

Il suo incipit è come per le madeleine di Proust una vera e propria immersione iniziatica.
La notizia della morte del leader dei Clash , come un trauma, scatena nell’autore un viaggio a ritroso fino al lontano 1984.
Ne nasce un viaggio interiore dove si mischiano racconti poesia e musica a cenni storici :

This is not a love song is a short but intense poetic journey around the Dark-Goth-New wave universe which developed in the early 80’s, often defined as Post-punk movement.
On the stage an actor and a musician alternate , while the story is being cold using their personal techniques and means. The actor’s restless physicality and narration dialogue with the notes and the broken intense voice of the singer, slowly disentangling an intimate story which describes moods and feelings of a very particular period, where belonging was everything.

The incipit of the story reminds of the Proust’s madeleine: an actual journey in the past.
The news about the death of the Clash leader, like a trauma, provoke to the author a flash back to the remote 1984.
The result is an inner journey where stories, poetry and music mix with the historical background: the real 1984, the everyday life and anger, we were a group of Dark boys with eye make-up that were replacing the punk by osmosis; the travels from Milan to London; we inhalated glue sticks hidden in the bag of lysergic dreams; Europe split in half; the Berlin wall; the British miners against Tatcher; the normal boredom; the fear of a global thermonuclear war; love that make us fall apart. The total loss of innocence and all that music: Tuxedo Moon, Bauhaus, P.I.L, The Cure, The Smith, Joy Division,Clock DVA,The Sound, Killing Joke, CCCP fedeli alla linea,Diaframma,Neon.
